Jotham's Crib

Jotham is currently having his last night sleeping in his crib. Tomorrow after his nap we'll take down the crib and set up his new bed. Jotham is so excited about his new bed, its a "Cars" bed and has a picture of Lightening McQueen on one end and Mater on the other. Since we bought it last Saturday every day he's been asking "open new bed". I wanted to have an official last night of him in his crib, and it made sense to have the weekend to get him familiar with being in a toddler bed so we picked tonight as his last night in it.

While playing in Jotham's room this evening, Waylon was teasing me about needing closure with Jotham having an official last night in his crib. I replied saying, "We don't know if we'll have another baby to use the crib".  And it wasn't until then that I realized why I needed a few more days of Jotham in his crib after we bought the bed.  I think it would be so much easier if Zephaniah were going to be getting the crib in a few more months,  but instead I fear we'll never set the crib up again, at least not for a child of our own.

I know that its time for Jotham to move out of his crib, and I love how excited he is for his bed. He understands completely what's going to happen. When we talk about it he says his crib will be "all gone" and he'll " sleep 'queen bed". He's so ready for it. And I am ready for it too, I just wish our new baby were getting to use the crib in May.
