Love at first sight

My title may not be entirely accurate as we were in love with you before we knew you officially existed, however we did love seeing you for the first time at our ultrasound. Because we live in a tiny little town, there is no ultrasound clinic here or anyone who knows how to operate the one at the hospital, so we had to drive to Regina for our appointment.

While the ultrasound itself is fine and getting to see you or Jotham when he was so tiny was amazing, having to drink so much water before hand has never been my favourite part. I needed to have all the water in me an hour before the appointment so I drank it while we were driving on our two hour drive. For the last 45 minutes of the drive I was in so much pain, that at times I was almost crying. I have never had to pee so bad, it was horrible. (April it's ok if you're laughing at me, but it was really bad - I don't recommend having to drive 2 hours to an ultrasound).  When we got to the office the very nice receptionist asked if I was ok, I asked if I could go to the bathroom just a little and she said that would be fine. I was so thankful.

I got in to see a technician really quick which was great, Jotham and Daddy played with the toys since Jotham wasn't allowed to be in the room with me the whole time, I guess they figure kids are too distracting. The technician was very nice and looked you over real quick and did your measurements. We didn't know how old you were yet, but knew it could be anywhere from about 7-12 weeks old. I was thinking you were a little bit older because you'd caused me to get a baby belly so fast, but you were only 7 weeks and 3 days when we saw you. She brought Jotham and Daddy in so they could see you too.

We got to see your little heart beating away, 148 beats a minute.  You were so tiny and though it looks like there is a little arm in the picture, I think its just a shadow.  Here is our first picture of you.
